DASH Inflation Analysis · October 2026 · Supply growing · projected to keep growing

Dash supply is growing, and it keeps growing for a simple reason: every Dash block pays new coins to miners and masternodes, every month the Dash treasury pays new coins to the projects masternodes vote for, and almost nothing is ever burned. Over the last 90 days 127,460 DASH reached the market against 32,434 DASH taken out, a net rise of +0.74%; the next 90 days look slightly lighter at +0.71%, because the block reward fell by 1/14 on Aug 16 2026. Dash has no vesting and no team allocation, and its supply cap sits between 17.74M and 18.92M DASH depending on how much treasury budget is ever paid out.

The verdict, in one paragraph

On our ledger DASH supply grew by +0.74% in the last 90 days and should grow by about +0.71% in the next 90. The monitor, which reads the same coins from market supply data over a window ending a week earlier, shows +0.71%. The gap is 0.03 percentage points, well inside our half-point tolerance, so no warning chip is shown and the two readings agree. Dash is a mined coin that is inflationary by design: steady block rewards plus a voted monthly treasury, with no burn large enough to matter.

Sell pressure: where new DASH comes from

Protocol inflation is the largest steady source. Each Dash block pays 20% of its reward to the miner and 37.5% to a masternode, and over these 90 days the chain produced 49,340 blocks — a little slower than its 2.5-minute target — paying 59,771 DASH straight into the market. Dash cuts its block reward by one fourteenth every 210,240 blocks, roughly once a year; the latest cut landed on Aug 16 2026, so the next 90 days pay about 58,294 DASH. The next cut is due around Sep 4 2027.

Vesting unlocks are 0. Dash launched in January 2014 with no sale and no team or investor share, so there is no unlock calendar at all; every DASH in existence came from mining, masternode pay or the treasury.

Foundation and unscheduled unlocks are 0 as a separate line, because Dash’s team-side money flows through two rows of their own below. Long-term locked or bankruptcy coins are also 0: no estate, trustee or long lock is releasing DASH.

Treasury payouts are the second source. Twenty percent of every block reward is held back and created only when masternodes approve proposals at a superblock, about every 30 days; budget that no proposal wins is never minted. Three Dash treasury payouts landed in the window — 7,227 DASH on Jul 22 2026, 6,817 DASH on Aug 21 2026 and 6,810 DASH on Sep 21 2026 — for 20,854 DASH in total. For the next 90 days we count 5,193 DASH on Oct 21 2026 (what passes the vote today) and about 6,814 DASH near Nov 20 and Dec 20 2026, or 18,820 DASH.

Platform withdrawals are the third source. Part of every masternode reward is paid into the Dash Platform credit pool, where evonodes earn it, and users also park DASH there for apps and private transfers. Those coins sit outside the circulating float until someone withdraws them. In these 90 days 2,306 withdrawals brought 46,835 DASH back into the market, with the pace rising after Aug 21 2026. All sell rows together come to 127,460 DASH, and 123,949 DASH for the next 90 days.

Buy pressure: where new DASH goes

Dash has no programmatic buyback, so that row is 0: transaction fees go to the miner, and the treasury pays out new coins instead of buying old ones. The protocol fee burn is tiny. Dash does not burn transaction fees; the only coins destroyed are the 1 DASH fee paid to submit a treasury proposal, and 37 proposals burned 37 DASH in the window.

Foundation buying is 0: no team, foundation or treasury wallet buys DASH in the market. New long-term locks are also 0 on the ledger, even though running a masternode locks 1,000 DASH (4,000 for an evonode) and about 4.05M DASH is locked that way today. Those coins still count as circulating, so a new masternode takes nothing out of the float.

The one real buy-side flow is Platform deposits. Users moved 32,397 DASH out of the market into the credit pool in 1,539 deposits, to pay for usernames, apps and private transfers on Dash Platform. Deposits and withdrawals both climbed after August, and the pool itself still grew by 8,950 DASH. Total buy pressure is 32,434 DASH, and we keep the same figure for the next 90 days.

Foundation and overhang

The largest pool of DASH outside the float is the Dash Platform credit pool, holding 36,985 DASH at the end of the window, up from 28,035 DASH 90 days earlier. We read it from the chain at every refresh, and its outflows are already booked as Platform withdrawals.

The Dash treasury is a flow, not a stock: it holds nothing between payouts and can create at most about 6,828 DASH per superblock under the current reward. Dash Core Group, the main development team, is paid from it — its current proposal asks for 4,832 DASH a month — and the address that receives those payouts passes the coins on, so they are counted once, when the treasury pays them. The team’s own operating balances are not published as one wallet, so we follow them through official disclosure. Masternode collateral, about 4.05M DASH across 2,609 regular masternodes and 360 evonodes, is the biggest locked block, but it already counts as circulating. If any of these balances falls between refreshes, the outflow enters Sell #3 at the next refresh.

How DASH compares to other mined payment coins

Bitcoin and Litecoin cut their block reward in half every four years, so their supply growth moves in big steps. Dash cuts by one fourteenth roughly every year, so its issuance falls in small, regular steps instead of sudden halvings. The end result is similar — a capped supply that grows more slowly each year — but Dash never has a single halving day that changes the picture overnight.

The bigger difference is where the new coins go. In Bitcoin and Litecoin all new coins go to miners. Dash splits them between miners, masternodes and a treasury, and it pays part of the masternode share into a second layer, Dash Platform, whose credit pool sits outside the float. Zcash also sends part of its block reward to development funding, but Dash is unusual in that its treasury share is only created when masternodes vote for real proposals, so unused budget simply never exists. Monero, by contrast, has no cap at all and keeps a small permanent tail emission.

None of these coins has a meaningful burn. That is why Dash, like the other mined payment coins, reads as steadily inflationary: its supply growth is set by the reward schedule, the treasury vote and, in Dash’s case, how fast coins move in and out of Dash Platform.

What to watch in the next 90 days

The Oct 21 2026 superblock: today 5,193 DASH of proposals pass, and votes can still change the figure before the deadline.

The Nov 20 2026 and Dec 20 2026 superblocks: each can pay up to about 6,828 DASH, and a quiet month or a full month moves the treasury row by several thousand DASH.

Platform withdrawals and deposits: both climbed sharply after August, and if the faster pace holds, the next 90 days could see more DASH leave the credit pool than the 46,835 we count.

The Dash Core v24 hard fork, in release candidates since Sep 26 2026: it changes the Platform withdrawal limit to a rule based on the pool’s own balance and adds shared masternodes, but it does not change the block reward.

Summary

Dash (DASH) supply grew +0.74% in the last 90 days and is projected to grow about +0.71% in the next 90, in line with the monitor’s +0.71%. The growth comes from block rewards to miners and masternodes, a monthly treasury voted by masternodes, and coins withdrawn from the Dash Platform credit pool, while the only burn is a 1 DASH proposal fee. The key risk is a faster drain of the credit pool or a fuller treasury budget; the ceiling is the protocol schedule, which cuts the block reward by one fourteenth about once a year toward a cap between 17.74M and 18.92M DASH.
