BCH Inflation Analysis · October 2026 · Mixed flows · supply roughly steady
Bitcoin Cash supply rises a little every ten minutes and nothing pulls it back down. From Jul 24 to Oct 22 2026, BCH miners collected 40,653 BCH of newly created coins, while burns, buybacks and locks took out 0 BCH, so net BCH supply grew +0.20%, and the MrNasDog Pressure Framework expects the same +0.20% over the next 90 days. About 20.11M of the 21M BCH cap is already mined, so the Bitcoin Cash halving schedule, not a team, a fund or a vote, sets how much new BCH arrives.
The verdict, in one paragraph
We put BCH at +0.20% net over the last 90 days and +0.20% for the next 90. The independent inflation monitor shows +0.23% over the same 90 days, a difference of only 0.02 percentage points, so the readings agree and the BCH coin page shows no ⚠ monitor gap note. All new Bitcoin Cash came from mined blocks, and not one coin left the market for good: Bitcoin Cash has no fee burn, no buyback and no staking. The label that fits BCH is steady mined issuance on a capped chain, with nothing on the buy side.
Sell pressure: where new BCH comes from
Protocol inflation is the only source of new Bitcoin Cash. Each block pays the miner who finds it a subsidy of 3.125 BCH, the level set when Bitcoin Cash halved at block 840,000 in April 2024. Between Jul 24 2026 and Oct 22 2026 the network produced 13,009 blocks, from block 960,934 to block 973,942, which works out to about 145 blocks a day against a design pace of 144. That pace created 40,653 BCH, about 452 BCH a day. The three 30-day stretches held 4,351, 4,270 and 4,388 blocks, so the pace was even, though single days ranged from 116 to 220 blocks as mining power moved on and off the chain. Bitcoin Cash retargets its difficulty after every block toward a fixed ten-minute clock, so a fast or slow day is corrected over the following days instead of building up. The supply count read on-chain at both ends of the window grew by the same 40,653 BCH, to within a hundredth of a coin.
Vesting unlocks are 0. Bitcoin Cash began on Aug 1 2017 as a split from Bitcoin that copied every existing balance, so there was no presale, no founder share and no investor tranche, and no unlock calendar exists. Foundation and unscheduled unlocks are 0 too: no foundation, DAO or development fund holds a BCH reserve, and no part of the block reward is sent to one. Long-term locked or bankruptcy supply books 0. The Mt. Gox estate set aside about 143K BCH for its creditors and has already paid most of them, and on Oct 16 2026 its trustee pushed the final repayment deadline from Oct 31 2026 to Oct 31 2027. Every one of those coins was mined years ago and already counts as circulating, so a Mt. Gox payout hands existing BCH to new owners without adding any new Bitcoin Cash.
Buy pressure: where new BCH goes
Nothing on the Bitcoin Cash buy side moved. Programmatic buyback is 0: Bitcoin Cash has no protocol treasury and no company that earns revenue and buys BCH back. Protocol fee burn is 0: every transaction fee is paid to the miner, and none is destroyed. The best-known burn address on Bitcoin Cash has collected about 65.4 BCH over its whole life, and it received nothing in these 90 days, so voluntary burns do not register either.
Foundation buy is 0, because there is no foundation to buy. The biggest single holder that reports its balance is a listed BCH fund that held 382.6K BCH on Jun 30 2026 and filed on Sep 11 2026 to turn itself into an exchange-traded fund. Its coins were bought from the market and still count as circulating, so when it buys or sells, BCH changes hands without leaving the float. New long-term lock is 0: Bitcoin Cash is secured by mining, not staking, so no BCH is locked to earn rewards.
Foundation and overhang
Bitcoin Cash has no team-controlled overhang. There is no foundation treasury, no DAO wallet, no buyback wallet and no reserve waiting for a release date, and circulating supply sits only one block reward below total supply. The one pile we keep an eye on is the Mt. Gox estate’s remaining BCH. The trustee does not publish a BCH address, so we follow it through the trustee’s own notices; the next fixed date is the Oct 31 2027 deadline. If that estate’s BCH ever showed a balance that sat outside circulating supply and then fell between our checks, the outflow would enter Sell #3 at the next check. Today it books zero, because those coins already count as circulating.
Large funds, exchanges and the dormant coins inherited from Bitcoin’s early years are not team-controlled. They belong to depositors, shareholders or long-lost keys, they sit inside circulating supply, and none of them can mint new BCH. Only mining can, at 3.125 BCH a block.
How BCH compares to other proof-of-work coins
Bitcoin Cash carries Bitcoin’s supply rules unchanged: the same 21M cap, the same 3.125-coin subsidy and the same halving every 210,000 blocks. Because the two chains share their history up to 2017, Bitcoin Cash halves at nearly the same time as Bitcoin, and its net issuance of about 0.20% per 90 days sits right next to Bitcoin’s. The real difference is the clock. Bitcoin adjusts difficulty once every 2,016 blocks, so a rise in mining power can run it fast for weeks, while Bitcoin Cash adjusts after every block and holds closer to ten minutes. Over a 90-day window that keeps BCH issuance very close to its schedule.
Other mined coins choose different paths. Litecoin uses the same halving model on a 2.5-minute clock and an 84M cap, so its rate falls in steps like BCH’s. Dogecoin pays a flat reward forever with no cap, so it never runs out of new coins. Monero finished its main emission and now pays a small permanent tail reward to keep miners paid. Bitcoin Cash has neither a tail reward nor a burn: once the last halving passes, new BCH stops completely.
Against proof-of-stake chains, Bitcoin Cash is simpler to read. There is no staking yield to model, no validator queue, no fee burn that rises and falls with traffic and no treasury that can vote to spend. BCH supply is a function of block height alone.
What to watch in the next 90 days
Block pace. A sudden swing in mining power can bunch or stretch blocks for a few days; we check whether the 90-day count stays near the expected 12,960 blocks.
Nov 15 2026, the usual date when node teams fix what goes into the next May upgrade. A proposal for faster blocks is still being argued and has no lock-in; if it moves forward, we will check whether it keeps today’s pace of about 450 new BCH a day.
The listed BCH fund’s request to become an exchange-traded fund, filed Sep 11 2026, has no decision date yet. Approval would change who buys BCH, not how many BCH exist.
The Mt. Gox estate’s remaining BCH payouts now run to Oct 31 2027. Any payout moves coins that already count as circulating and adds no new supply. The next Bitcoin Cash halving, to 1.5625 BCH a block, is expected around April 2028, outside this window.
Summary
Bitcoin Cash is mildly inflationary at +0.20% per 90 days, with 40,653 BCH of new coins paid to miners and 0 BCH burned, bought back or locked. BCH supply comes only from the block subsidy of 3.125 BCH, and with no foundation, no vesting and no team reserve, there is no unlock risk to price in. The main thing to watch is the block pace and any upgrade that touches the reward, and the hard ceiling is the 21M BCH cap, of which about 20.11M is already mined.
